Somatic psychotherapy
We are embodied creatures, who experience life through our wholeness - our emotions and thoughts as well as our nervous systems, our movements, our senses, our sensations. We are in relation with the happenings around us that we drink in and resonate with, respond to. We are immersed in ripples of call and response, through our whole beings - body, mind, and spirit.
Somatic Psychotherapy is a way of exploring experience through our wholeness, in the present moment.
Our breath, our heart beat, our patterns of muscle tension and release, our expressive gestures, all of these aspects of experience communicate about our experiences. Our bodies are wise, often perceiving, intuiting, and synthesizing before our cognitive thinking makes sense of the moment.
